A skills maintenance (proficiency) is required to be undertaken by all award holders (Observers, SRC, Bronze, ART, IRB drivers, IRB Crew) annually to keep your awards current.

Members must be proficient by December 31st each year.

Skill Maintenance will commence at 8.00 am in the Club “Waves” Function room and can be completed on one of the following dates:

  • Saturday, 9 September 2023
  • Sunday, 8 October 2023
  • Sunday, 5 November 2023
  • Saturday, 25 November 2023
  • Sunday, 10 December 2023

If attending please bring swimwear, towel and high vis rashie

If you are unable to make any of these dates, please call or email the Club Administrator during office hours to discuss participating at another Club.

Check List before attending:

  • are financial for 23/24 season
  • complete 2023/24 Skills Maintenance module located in your Training Library in Member Area eLearning
  • Blue Card current for 18 & over
  • If your Blue Card has been renewed over the last 12 months complete the CYRM and SLS – Child Safe Awareness modules in eLearning (refer below for guidelines)
  • Attend & complete one of the above skills maintenance sessions (not just sign in!!)

Members are expected to stay for the whole session, which takes approximately 2 -3 hours.

Guidelines to access and complete your theory component are as follows:

·   Child Youth Risk Management Module (CYRM)

  • Safeguarding our children is of the highest priority for the Club.
  • All members 18 years & over must complete the CYRM upon joining the Club.
  • This short online course is part of the Child Risk Management Strategy and will take approx 15 minutes.

SLS Children Safe Awareness Course

  • All members 18 years & over must complete the  Child Safe Awareness Course
  • This short online course is part of the Child Risk Management Strategy and will take approx 30 minutes.
