Nippers

Nippers is aimed at learning about Surf Life Saving and Surf Awareness through Surf Education programs, with an emphasis on participation and fun.

This is a great way to spend a Sunday morning at the beach. Not only will your child have fun and meet new friends, they will become part of an iconic organisation that has served the Australian community for over 100 years.

The nippers program will include surf swimming, surf safety, board paddling, board rescue, beach activities, and basic first aid.

Pool Proficiences

All our young members from Under 6 through to the Under 14 age groups must complete a pool proficiency annually.

If you are unable to make one of our scheduled dates, you will need to coordinate completion of this yourself through a qualified/accredited swim coach or swim teacher using the Pool Proficiency form,

One completed, the form can be either dropped into or emailed to the Club Office.

Pool Proficiency Dates

Location: Currumbin State School, 6 Philip Street, Currumbin

Dates:

  • Sunday, 27 August 2023, between 11:30am to 1:30pm
  • Saturday, 9 September, between 11:30am-1:30pm

All pool proficiencies must be completed prior to the first day of nippers.

Surf Life Saving Member Area

Every member has access to their own SLSA Member Area, which is the one stop shop for all Surf Life Saving members.

Existing members should use the SLSA Member Area to:

Key things for our Nippers parents/guardians to remember when renewing memberships include that:

  • Your membership cannot be processed until you have paid your membership fees.
  • Nippers must complete a pool proficiency prior to each season (see attached form).

New Members

It is SLSA policy that you provide a copy of relevant current identification, such as your driver’s license or passport as a parent/guardian, and a copy of your Nipper’s birth certificate.
