Bonze Course

The aim of this course is to provide participants with the skills and knowledge of patrolling and surf awareness in order to be able to participate in lifesaving operations. These are the core awards to becoming a volunteer surf lifesaver in Australia.

The bronze is a combination of online modules through the SLSA eLearning Member Area, in class sessions and practical/water sessions.

The first aid certificate will form part of the course

Prerequisites

– must be 15 years of age on the date of final assessment
– complete an unaided swim of 400 metre swim in nine (9) minutes
– have your Unique Student Identifier (USI) Number
– for school students, you will be required to also provide your LUI Number
– financial member of the Club
– hold a current Blue Card for all members 18 years of age & up

What to bring each week

– swimmers, rash shirt, towel, hat
– warm clothing
– water bottle and snacks/lunch
– pen / ipad or laptop
